Implantology
What is implantology?
Implantology is the discipline that deals with replacing missing teeth with materials that simulate the patient’s natural teeth in function and aesthetics.
For this purpose, dental implants are used, made of biocompatible materials that are placed in the jawbone, artificially replacing the root of the tooth.
They are connected to a denture or crown so that the patient can lead a normal life, eat, and smile as they would with natural teeth.
Benefits of implantology
- You will eat as you did before, without pain
- Bone loss caused by missing teeth is avoided. With dental implants, chewing is restored and bone formation is stimulated.
- Improves dental aesthetics; you will not see spaces where you are missing teeth. Dental implants are connected to a crown that simulates a natural tooth in shape, color, and appearance.
Treatments
Immediate loading is the procedure by which the implant and the prosthesis (dental crown) are placed in the same intervention.
TTFA is a procedure developed by the Abaden team of surgeons that allows the entire mouth to be replaced with implants in 4-5 hours.

Frequently asked questions
How long do dental implants last?
Dental implants can last as long as natural teeth, as long as you follow the instructions provided by the dentist. It is very important to attend the annual review visits in order to evaluate the evolution of the implant.
Can an implant be placed immediately after tooth extraction?
It depends on each specific case. In the absence of infection and inflammation and the presence of a sufficient amount of bone, it is possible to install the implant immediately after tooth extraction.
Is the intervention painful?
For the surgery, the dentist will place local anesthesia in the area where the implant will be placed, so that the area will be numb. In surgeries where we place several implants (long surgeries) or in which the patient is afraid, we recommend performing the treatment under conscious dental sedation, a procedure by which an anesthesiologist will place you in a state of very deep relaxation, similar to sleep.
